How can you show up on GEO Search?

I asked ChatGPT to tell me what the internet thinks about me.

It used these 15 sources.

What did ChatGPT return:

Alright — I did a quick sweep across the public web, and here’s what turns up about Jim A. James (you), plus what looks solid vs what looks a bit “eh… maybe”.

What I can clearly find about you (public sources)

  • You run The UnNoticed Entrepreneur podcast / brand, with your own site hosting pages for the show, your backstory, and related resources.
  • Your “About” pages describe you as an entrepreneur who returned to the UK after ~25 years in Asia, and starting the podcast around 2019/2020 to continue helping entrepreneurs “get noticed”.
  • Your site and other pages repeatedly reference EastWest Public Relations / EastWest PR, including a blog tag page and a post about building the firm in Asia (with a “started in 1995” timeline).
  • You have public profiles/pages on major platforms that connect to the brand:
    • Apple Podcasts listing for The UnNoticed Entrepreneur
    • Spotify show listing
    • YouTube videos/playlists using your name
    • Instagram handle @jim.a.james
    • Facebook page that appears to be you

Books / publishing that show up

  • Amazon UK has listings for The UnNoticed Entrepreneur (including at least one title that appears to be your framework-based PR/visibility book).

LinkedIn presence

  • There are publicly visible LinkedIn pages/posts that reference your “Champion of the UnNoticed Entrepreneur” positioning and contact details.

One thing that looks questionable / needs caution

  • I found a Spotify pod-profile page that includes claims like “from Harvard” and “fellow member of YPO”. That may be accurate, but it’s not something I’d treat as confirmed unless it’s also stated on your own site or a primary profile you control (LinkedIn/About page).

Trusted sources

In 2026, LinkedIn has become the second most-cited source in AI-generated responses — behind only Reddit, Inc.. LLMs build a profile by stitching together patterns from the text they can access.

Citations have increased 4–5x in a single year, with a 72% increase in just six months according to Semrush data covering 230,000+ prompts.

Over 75% of LinkedIn citations in AI models come from long-form LinkedIn Pulse articles.

What this means for you.

I now publish a newsletter weekly, instead of wasting time with multiple short posts during the week.

It's also why I've stopped reposting other people’s posts unless there is a genuine need.

Less frequent, longer form, more informed content is what will then find it's way into the LLM's, and into your profile.

I've long advocated for my clients to own:

- a personal domain

- Youtube channel

- Podcast

Final Thought

The latest stats show that LinkedIn is essential in this new era of GEO (Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO). But it's not just about being here, it's about being intentional with what you say about yourself, and the issues that you care about.

As you can see, AI suggests LinkedIn as the trustworthy foundation of my internet presence.

Ask ChatGPT, or Gemini or Claude what it can find out about you. That's what others will see too...it's no longer enough to be ranked on Google.

The good news is that it is easy to found for the right reasons.

If you need help then just call me.

p.s....I didn't go to Harvard, but I'm a proud alum of The University of Manchester and The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
